"St Patrick's Bridge spans the River Lee at its northern branch, [the bridge] has a width of about 60 feet and is, therefore, wider than any bridge over the Thames with the exception of Westminster. The original bridge, built in 17, was destroyed by a flood in 18 and was replaced by the present bridge completed in 18."
