Ninety-Eight Street

Ninety Eight Street

This (1950s?) photograph presents us with an interesting view of the lower part of '98 Street from near its junction with present day Noonan Road. The street was formerly called Hospital Street due to the presence of a hospital in the area. It was renamed '98 Street in 1898 as part of the commemorations of the 1798 Rebellion.
