Other Information The Field, by John B. Keane, was the first production during Theatre of the South's celebratory 21st summer season in 1979. This play featured many Theatre of the South regulars: with James N. Healy in the lead role as 'Bull McCabe', Paddy Comerford as 'The Bird' and Dan Donovan as 'Father Murphy'. The Field ran for one week at Cork Opera House from 6 to 11 August and was followed by two more John B. Keane plays, Moll and The Buds of Ballybunion, over the following consecutive weeks.
